The first round of the Pacific Motorcycle Club summer series kicked off with a bang on September 26. The series runs at both Taupo and Manfeild and is organised with an open track day the day before the racing. I dropped in for the practice day with the 125 and spent the rest of the weekend at the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride shooting for the Earnest Workwear lads. Solid weekend!
This was the first time I had ridden the 125 on track 2 which is a cut down version of the full track. Reducing the size of the straight gives the 125 a real chance against the bigger bikes and it's always amusing toying with them in the corners. There was no timing done on the day but the goal was to focus on feeling comfortable on the bike again after a long break over winter. I definitely succeeded with that and with the AMCC summer series also about to kick off, it's looking like a racing filled spring!
