Back in May I ran both the 125 and my little Yamaha TZ80 at the short Taupo track for the HMCC winter series. I love this track. Its cuts out most of the massively long main straight making it predominantly corners, perfect for my light and nimble GP chassis. I ran the TZ in a mixed development class meaning I was up against 250cc production bikes and the odd 390cc KTM proddy. What I lacked in power I made up for in enthusiasm and weight savings.
I put it on the front row in qualifying and was revved up for some hell battles. Despite a gearbox which kept jumping out of gear and slippery under temp slicks, I still managed to have a tonne of fun out there with Campbell Grayling and Jacob Stroud. I even took a 2nd place in the first race. See video above. There's no doubt in my mind the fun you can have on these little bikes. Come out and play!
