Round 2! Schleizer Dreieck, a closed road circuit winding through the trees and paddocks of the tiny central Germany town Schleiz. What a beautiful circuit! Honestly this was the track I was looking forward to the least, not because it didn’t look cool but because it’s between world level circuits of Hockenheim and Assen! But cycling the circuit last night (unfortunately in the rain) I realised how cool it actually is. These tracks are the continental circus grounds I’ve heard so much about from back in the day and the grassy pit lane and old pit buildings make it clear they’ve been here a while. I’m stoked we race at these Klassik Motorsport events despite some of these Freetech bikes having more tech on them than I’ve ever seen at club level. Because the paddock is completely stuffed with beautiful 2 strokes and everywhere I turn I’m fizzing over at the machines. Awesome!
Watching video online and looking at it from google earth didn’t do much to show just how much elevation change there is! I think there’s a total of 44m or so and the fastest section of the circuit is downhill and wiggles. It’s faster than Hockenheim! I'm looking forward to this, let's get into it!
